View Larger Image GOP legislators demand probe of high-speed rail as construction progresses The Fresno Bee » California lawmakers are questioning the accuracy of reports previously provided to the Legislature by the California High Speed Rail Authority (HSRA) following the release of a 2013 report that revealed a 31% increase in the cost for the first phase of California’s high-speed rail project. Assemblyman Jim Patterson (R-Fresno) is critical of HSRA as additional documents show private sector industries expressed reservations about the practicality of private investment and the financial viability of the project.
