This article provides a brief review of the transportation funding solution that legislators in Rhode Island were able to work out. Because of popular resistance to the idea of tolls, tolling was removed from being a future transportation funding solution. Instead they opted for a dedicated revenue stream from increased fuel taxes and vehicle fees.
