Mississippi Watchdog » The Mississippi Transportation Commission needs $400 million more per year to maintain the state’s transportation infrastructure. The additional funds could come from an increased gas tax, vehicle miles traveled (VMT) tax, or the return of $300 million that was moved from the state highway trust fund to the general fund.
