Qatar Railways (Qatar Rail) announced the awarding of four design build contracts for Phase 1 of the Doha Metro Project for a total of approximately QAR 30 bn (1.5 billion euros). This is a key milestone in the development of Doha Metro, construction is scheduled to begin later in 2013 with completion in 2019.
