The US House of Representatives has passed a stop-gap measure to keep the Federal Highway Trust Fund solvent until May 2015. The measure will now pass to the US Senate and will be given a high priority. While this is a step in the right direction, it is important to note that this is simply another patch to the fund rather than finding a long-term sustainable solution to provide funding for national transportation infrastructure.
