GA DOT gives official nod to $800 million I-285/SR 400 interchange project

Field survey work on Atlanta’s I-285/SR 400 Interchange Project began the same day the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) issued the Notice to Proceed. The interchange project includes four miles of improvements on I-285, fives miles of improvements on SR 400, new flyovers, new connections, a bridge replacement, and several other features. The $800 million design-build (D/B) and finance contract was awarded to North Premier Contractors. Completion of the project is expected in 2020.

Ferrovial Reaches Financial Close for $458m Atlanta Highway

As part of the funding plan for the Interstate 285 and State Route 400 project in Georgia, Bank of America has provided a tax exempt loan for up to $458 million, and is the first time this type of funding approach has been used for a public-private partnership (P3) contract. In December 2015 the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) awarded a P3 contract to North Perimeter Contractors, a collaboration of Ferrovial Agroman, Louis Berger Group and Neel-Shaffer, for the design and construction of new flyover ramps, collector-distributor lanes, and other elements on Interstate 285 and State Route 400.
