As part of the funding plan for the Interstate 285 and State Route 400 project in Georgia, Bank of America has provided a tax exempt loan for up to $458 million, and is the first time this type of funding approach has been used for a public-private partnership (P3) contract. In December 2015 the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) awarded a P3 contract to North Perimeter Contractors, a collaboration of Ferrovial Agroman, Louis Berger Group and Neel-Shaffer, for the design and construction of new flyover ramps, collector-distributor lanes, and other elements on Interstate 285 and State Route 400.
