Star News Online » Board members passed a resolution supporting the concept of making the $1 billion new crossing a toll bridge — something the state has long planned to do. The N.C. Department of Transportation has not included replacing the bridge in its long-range transportation plans. So far, funds have been approved only for planning and environmental studies only in the state’s 2018-27 long-term plan.
