Nevada’s State Board of Transportation approved the sale of $100 million in revenue bonds to buy right-of-way to widen I-15 in Las Vegas. Called Project Neon the expansion is expected to cost $1 billion and the Nevada Department of Transportation will partner with the private sector. Thus far three companies have expressed interest in the project, and one will be selected later in 2014. This is a pilot project for the state and if the project is successful they will use it on more projects.
