Curbed Los Angeles » Metro officials on Friday celebrated the start of construction on the second phase of the Purple Line extension to the Westside. The subway extension is being built in three phases, and it’s just prep work, like moving power lines, that’s underway now for Phase No. 2, the stretch of the line that will run for 2.5 miles through Beverly Hills and Century City.
