FHWA provides a $357 million TIFIA loan to add 4 toll lanes to SH 288 in Houston, Texas

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) entered into a public-private partnership (P3) agreement with the Blueridge Transportation Group (BTG) to design, build, operate, and maintain four toll lanes on a ten-mile stretch of State Highway (SH) 288. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is providing a $357 million Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) loan, and BTG will operate the tollway until 2068.

Funds Secured for $1 billion Texas Toll Road Project

The Blueridge Transportation Group has secured financing for the $1 billion SH 288 Toll Lanes Project. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) award the private consortium a contract to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the toll lanes for 52 years, including the construction period. The consortium will collect the tolls for the express lane.
