Cuomo’s Plan To Use Clean Water Funds For Tappan Zee Bridge OK’d
The New York state Thruway Authority approved Governor Cuomo’s plan to provide a $265 million no-interest, five-year loan to help fund the Tappan Zee Bridge Replacement Project. Instead of using bonds, the state hopes to save millions by borrowing the money from the state’s clean water program. The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has questioned the use of the funds, and environmentalists have threatened to challenge the funding plan.
