View Larger Image Maryland Lawmakers Consider Public-Private Partnerships Washington Examiner » A Maryland Senate panel moved forward with a measure to allow the use of public-private partnerships (P3s). The measure specifies when and how private companies could partner with the state on major transportation infrastructure construction projects. The bill has overwhelmingly passed the House and is a priority for Governor Martin O’Malley. However many opponents worry that circumventing the typical procurement process could result in a shadowy process with less state oversight.
