Trump is offering at least $200 billion in federal money over 10 years to spur states, localities and the private sector to spend as much as $1.6 trillion. Democrats say that’s not nearly enough. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Senate Democrats have called for $1 trillion in federal investment.

California water: Desalination projects move forward with new state funding

The Mercury News » Three projects were awarded $10 million each to help with construction. Among them is the Antioch Brackish Water Desalination Project, which is estimated to cost $62.2 million. The other projects that received $10 million each are the Doheny Ocean Desalination Plant in Orange County, which would drill slant wells under the ocean floor at Dana Point and is estimated to cost $110 million, and the North Pleasant Valley Desalter Project, a $32 million brackish water project in Camarillo, in Ventura County.

New renderings show Texas bullet train station in Dallas

Fox 7 » Developers revealed on Monday the first renderings of what a proposed bullet train running from Dallas to Houston may look like. The privately financed $15 billion train will carry passengers between the two Texas cities in just 90 minutes. It would be on a 60-acre plot with multiple levels and platforms. The plans call for a pedestrian bridge linked to the convention center, the DART light rail station and parking for cars.
