The California Statewide Local Streets and Roads Needs Assessment Report finds more than $7.2 billion will be needed over the next ten years to prevent California’s local roads, streets and bridges from deteriorating. The report suggests an increased gas tax of 54 cents per gallon could provide enough revenue, which would costs drivers an estimated 74 cents extra per day in gas tax.
