Article investigates the challenge that Pennsylvania is facing when it comes to funding infrastructure repairs with a specific focus on the impact this will have on the state’s bridges. Because the state lacks the money to repair the more than 4,500 structurally deficient bridges it owns, decision has been made to increase the weight limits on certain key bridges in the hopes that a collapse, like the Skagit River Bridge in Washington, can be avoided.
