Negotiators strike deal on five-year, $305B highway bill

The U.S. House and Senate have reached agreement on the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act, a proposed measure to provide $305 billion for surface transportation infrastructure projects over the next five years. The FAST Act will be funded primarily through reauthorization of the current federal gas tax.
